| Accountable curriculum design comprises four distinct,
but related processes. I have put this model to effective use in many
projects using some or all of the processes. Click on the links for
samples. |
-
Needs Assessment - exploring and analyzing the needs of
learners through task analysis, surveys, research, etc. to determine
the most effective learning option.
- Blueprinting
- using sound instructional design practices to outline the
basic components of a learning option that will address the findings
of the needs assessment. Includes identification of goals, learning
outcomes, content, media concepts, etc.
-
Course Development - using the blueprint and sound instructional
design practices to design and write learning components which
could be print or web-based, self directed or class-based, manuals,
presentations, etc.
- Evaluation
- using valid evaluation practices to ensure that the original
learning needs have been met.
